The Fifth Annual Steppin in the Bayou Dance Contest and Silent Auction for Sisters Network Baton Rouge is August 3 through Aug. 4 at the Lyceum Ballroom downtown.

Dancers from Chicago, Las Vegas, Texas and Mississippi will come together to compete for the best title this year while raising money through a silent auction for African American cancer survivors. The Meet N Greet is Friday, August 3 at the Radisson at 8 p.m.  Then join us Saturday, August 4 at BREC, 7122 Perkins Road. for a free health fair for dancers from 10 a.m. to noon conducted by Nurse Z of Las Vegas.

There will be two workshops from noon to 2 p.m. with Cheryl "Sugarfoot" and Devan Powe of ATL and a Men's Only workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. with "Taboo" from Chicago. The cost of the workshop is $20. You must be pre-registered. For more information, go to www.steppininthebayou.com or (225) 270-9202.
