BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB)- Friends of an
injured cyclist said he no longer has to wake up in hospital and is now
recovering at home.
Danny Morris
was hit by a car last month on Perkins Road.
The Baton
Rouge Police Department said the man who hit Morris and killed another cyclist,
Nathan Crowson, had a blood-alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit.
Authorities
said Joseph Branch had a .307 percent blood alcohol content at the time of the
crash.
The
legal limit in Louisiana is a blood alcohol content of .08 percent.
Branch,
28, was charged with second offense DWI and vehicular homicide.
According
to police, Crowson and Morris were riding bikes in the 6100 block of Perkins
Road when they were hit from behind by a vehicle around 8:45 p.m.
Crowson
was pronounced dead at the scene.
He left behind a 5-year-old daughter named Katherine.
