Overnight construction leads to lane closures | News

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB)- Traffic officials and road construction project companies have announced several highway closures that could affect travel for some drivers.

I-12

Tuesday - Friday: 8 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Left lane closed in both directions between Juban Road & Walker to install temporary concrete barriers (Florida Blvd. is a good alternate around the nightly closures)

Wednesday: 8 p.m. - 5 a.m.

O'Neal Lane CLOSED at I-12 (All on-and off-ramps will be open, but traffic will not be allowed to pass under the bridge)

Westbound left lane closed between the Amite River Bridge and O'Neal Lane for permanent lane striping

Eastbound left lane closed between O'Neal Lane & the Amite River Bridge for permanent lane striping

Wednesday: 9 p.m. - 4 a.m.

Eastbound I-12 reduced to two lanes by closing the right lane for one mile beginning at MM 3.7 in East Baton Rouge Parish to install support structures for Dynamic Message Signs

Westbound I-12 reduced to two lanes by closing the right lane for one mile beginning at MM 5.9 in East Baton Rouge Parish to install support structures for Dynamic Message Signs

Thursday - Saturday: 8 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Eastbound left lane closed between O'Neal Lane & the Amite River Bridge for permanent lane striping

I-10

Wednesday: 9 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Westbound off-ramp at Essen Lane (Exit 160) will be CLOSED for a ramp alignment shift (To access Essen Lane from I-10 WB, continue to Exit 159 [I-12 EB] and travel eastbound on I-12 to Exit 1B [Essen Lane]

Westbound entrance ramp at Essen Lane will be CLOSED for concrete paving

Westbound reduced to one lane between Bluebonnet and Essen for a ramp alignment shift

Note: Only vehicles 11 feet wide or less will be allowed to pass through the construction zone (Oversize vehicles must detour using Exit 187 [US 61 North/Sorrento], then traveling north along US 61, exiting onto I-12 West and traveling west along I-12 until reaching I-10)

Thursday: 9 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Westbound reduced to one lane from Essen to the I-10/I-12 Split for concrete paving

Note: Only vehicles 11 feet wide or less will be allowed to pass through the construction zone (Oversize vehicles must detour using Exit 187 [US 61 North/Sorrento], then traveling north along US 61, exiting onto I-12 West and traveling west along I-12 until reaching I-10)

LA 1248 (Bluebonnet Blvd.)

Wednesday - Friday: 8 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Westbound one lane closed from I-10 to Mall of Louisiana Blvd. to install mountable curb and perform related work
